Progress Report On Cedare’s Role In The DIABP 2002

In preparation for the 2002 BIABP round, CEDARE had sent letters of invitation to submit, update and nominate in Arabic and English via mail, email and fax and distributed the submission guide to potential submitters and formulated a link to the DIABP on CEDARE’s website (www.cedare.org.eg) with the Award’s Trophy as a bookmark.

In October, CEDARE received the first submission to the 2002 round, based on an email invitation to the Kuwaiti Research Center. In December, CEDARE assisted the promising submission " Mokattam Paper Recycling Project, (PRP) from the Association for the Protection of the Environment - APE. On the last for early submissions -January 31- CEDARE received Report about the Red Sea Information System (RSIS) submitted by the Information and Decision support Center (IDSC). Other potential submitters are expected to send in their submissions prior to the final deadline, it is still noted however that many active NGOs, are in awe of applications and electronic forms and in its own capacity CEDARE attempts to facilitate the process. The received submissions have been forwarded to the DIABP Coordinator in Dubai Municipality (DM) and CEDARE is set to start on the validation process for Arab submissions in cooperation with the DM.
