The launch of the Royal Awards European 2003 poster contest

The Royal Awards for Sustainability are launching the 2003 version of the annual European poster contest on tomorrow’s environment. The objective is to encourage children, art students and creative citizens in Europe to engage in a dialogue on present day environmental issues by visually expressing their thoughts, ideas and visions through the art of poster making. This year the contest will focus on Energy, Agriculture and Tourism. The Award ceremony in Copenhagen, Denmark in July 2003 will mark the finish of 31 national contests around Europe.

The Royal Green Food Award

The Royal green Food Award will be presented on the 28th of November in Wageningen. 11 Entries have been submitted for the first edition of the Award. The RGFA enforces initiatives on sustainable agriculture and healthy food and seeks to increase public awareness and promote participation in the move towards sustainable agricultural practices. The award is created in collaboration with Wageningen University (The Netherlands), the University of Aberdeen (Scotland), the University of Gödöllö (Hungary) and the University of Murcia (Spain).

Royal Awards Barcelona for Urban Innovation

The first edition of the Royal Awards Barcelona for Urban Innovation will be presented in November at the ‘Saló de Cent’ in the city of Barcelona. The award focuses on ‘Urban Innovation in Waste Management’ and will be given to innovative achievements, interventions or projects that are currently in an advanced phase within the area of urban management in European cities.
